Have you ever walked into a room one way and walked out feeling completely different? Or carried a heaviness for years without realizing it might not even be yours? In this episode, I sit down with medical intuitive, energy healer, and bestselling author Dave Markowitz to talk about his newest book, Refuge for the Weary Empath. Dave shares the night he failed a sobriety test without drinking a drop, and how it revealed just how much we absorb from the people around us. We explore why shielding and constant boundary-holding can leave us drained, and what it looks like to let energy flow through instead. Dave introduces the four original wounds that shape how we see the world, and we talk about acceptance that opens a door instead of closing one. He shares the powerful moment he gave his mother back her sadness, and what Spirit told him when his anger work wasn't working: "Because you didn't love it." This conversation is an invitation to stop fighting what you feel, understand what's really yours, and move from balance into full-spectrum wholeness. Connect with Dave:

You know the feeling of walking into a room where an argument just happened. Nobody tells you. You just know. K. Margaret Solorio calls that energetic dust — and she says it collects in our homes the same way physical dust does, gathering in the corners, thickening around the things we've stopped noticing. Margaret came to this work by an unusual road: German winemaking, a biotechnology degree, and a lifetime of asking questions her science teachers couldn't finish answering. She trained as an Angel Reiki Master working on people, and kept getting nudged toward spaces instead until she finally sat down with her journal and asked what was going on. What she got back was a whole method. Now she clears homes she's never set foot in. A client sends a hand-drawn blueprint with each room labeled, and Margaret works through it room by room with the archangels — and sometimes a loved one from the other side — taking notes the whole way. She maps the chakras onto the house, and it's different every time. One woman's crown chakra turned out to be her back porch, which is exactly where she'd been meditating for years. She and Mechelle get into energetic clutter and why the physical and the emotional are always tangled together, what happens when a spirit is stuck in a home and doesn't know why, and the time the angels blacked out a garage and told her it simply wasn't time. But some of the best of this conversation is small. The chipped bowls Margaret used for years before realizing she was the grown-up now and could just replace them. The thin towels. Saving the good dishes for guests and forgetting you're allowed to be the special person. Her three go-to levers for any room: lighting, air, and nature. And an honest exchange about inherited things — what we keep out of obligation, what we let go of without guilt, and why Mechelle's stack of tiny Corelle bowls is worth more to her than anything in the house that had actual value.

Lori Sill has been through cancer twice. When she reached her last treatment the second time, she couldn't ring the bell — she'd rung it once already, and it hadn't meant what everyone said it would mean. In this episode, Mechelle finally brings her best friend of more than a decade to the mic. Lori talks openly about what she's living right now: the recovery nobody prepares you for, the years it took last time to get her strength back, the mental gymnastics of every new ache, and why going through it a second time was harder because she already knew what was coming. She also shares what changed in round two, from how she handled the medications to the boundaries she's holding now around her work and her energy. Their friendship runs underneath all of it. They go back to the hike neither of them wanted to be on, the gas station drinks that became a lifeline, and the time on the couch when a quiz from a book pulled the blinders off Lori's marriage. Lori is also the reason this show exists — she went first into the oils, into Reiki, into the shamanic work, and left the door open behind her every time. Then they pull four Glow & Tell cards — Mind, Spirit, Body, and Soul. Lori answers what thought pattern she had to unlearn, how she explains the unseen to someone who only trusts proof, what her body does when it feels truly safe, and the difference between forgiveness and simply moving on. If you're in the after — the part where everyone thinks you're fine — this one's for you.

Cat Wagner kept seeing the phoenix — in meditation, in birds, in everything — until one day she became it. That was the moment she finally named her business and stopped waiting for permission. In this Wholeness Guide conversation, Cat and Mechelle get into what it actually looks like to hold multiple healing modalities at once: Reiki Master training, shamanic technique, angelic healing, tarot and oracle, runes, the I Ching, and human design. Cat teaches full time, reads for clients online, and weaves these tools together based on what a person actually needs in the moment. We go into the question Mechelle has been sitting with: if human design says your energetic blueprint is fixed, and Reiki says energy is fluid and can shift — how do both stay true? Cat's answer is one of the clearest we've heard. She also walks us through what runes and the I Ching are and how to work with them, why she never picks the deck for you, and the most common mistake people make when they start reading for themselves — asking a question they've already decided the answer to. (Mechelle owns having done exactly that. Cat pulled the Tower. Twice.) If you've ever wanted a reading but worried you'd be handing over your own authority, this one is for you. Cat's sessions are online and she'll tailor the format to what you're looking for.

Content note: This episode includes discussion of suicidal ideation, violent crime, and psychedelic-assisted therapy. Please take care of yourself while listening. Nothing here is medical advice. Mark Michaels was conceived by donor insemination in 1958 and didn't find out until he was past thirty. He calls himself an uncontrolled experiment — half joking, but only half. The medical advice at the time was to keep it secret, mix the sperm to muddy the paternity, count a live birth as success, and assume everyone would forget. Mechelle sits down with him for a conversation. They talk about what happens when the story you were never told still lives in your body. About the ten-week intensive — ketamine with MDMA sessions, treatment goals he set and then blew past — that did more for him than decades of previous therapy. About the therapist who ended things the moment he wanted to try something new, and the one before that who fell asleep during sessions and denied it. Mark argues there are narrative channels we get funneled into and advocates taking control of your own story, whatever that story turns out to be.

What do you do when you have all the training, all the credentials, all the right answers — and none of it holds when your own life falls apart? Dr. Cristi Bundukamara — "Dr. B" — is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, retired Navy veteran, and mother of seven who has buried three of her children. When her son Johnny drowned, when Reggie's DRPLA took him, when Miah died in her sleep with no warning, the coping skills she'd taught for decades weren't enough. What finally cracked something open was her mother's suggestion on a night she'd broken down crying: try journaling. Out of that irritated, exhausted, one-page attempt came the Thought Map — and eventually the Mentally STRONG Method, now used with thousands of people. In this conversation, Dr. B walks Mechelle through a live Thought Map on the air, using a real thought Mechelle is carrying about stepping into The Wholeness Network solo. It's a rare thing to watch a method get demonstrated rather than described. Exclusive for TWN listeners — Dr. B created a free Thought Map guide just for this audience, plus a link to book a discovery call to walk through your map:

When chronic pain forces us to face what we've been resisting, something shifts. In this conversation, Alaya Chikly shares her three-year journey with hip necrosis—from spiritual resistance to medical intervention to profound cellular and generational healing work. We explore how the body holds the imprint of our choices and our ancestors' choices, how surgical scars carry the energy of the hands that held them, and what it means to trust both medicine and intuition. A masterclass in surrender, embodied consciousness, and the integration of healing modalities.

Some of the heaviest things we carry aren't even ours — they were handed down so quietly we never noticed. In this episode, Mechelle sits down with Lisa Hartle, a neurofeedback practitioner, coach, and author of I Was Never Broken, to talk about what happens when your body finally stops letting you outrun your past. Lisa shares how a perfect storm — empty nesting, a cross-state move, a job she hated, and anxiety she'd never experienced before — cracked open five memories she'd spent a lifetime shoving and stuffing. What followed was one of the most honest healing journeys you'll hear: writing 20 ways each painful experience had blessed her life, going back as her adult self to sit with a three-year-old girl who had taken on shame that was never hers, and ultimately breaking a generational chain of addiction and silence that had run through her family for decades. This conversation covers bone beliefs, the "sonic boom" of delayed trauma, epigenetics, IFS, and why true gratitude can't be rushed to — it has to be earned through the journey. If you've ever thought, "That was a long time ago, I should be over it" — this one's for you. I Was Never Broken is available on Amazon.
